Twenty-six items, forty-seven changes and four database migrations. Three of the items came from troop reports: a campout Leadership page that broke permanently the moment a leader was reassigned, a broadcast audience list that showed every patrol three or four times, and the awkward date field for scheduling a message.
What's new on the site
Campouts and events
- Changing a campout's leadership no longer breaks the page. Reassigning the Lead Scout, Lead Scoutmaster or Outdoor Coordinator added a second leader instead of replacing the first. From that point on, every later save of that campout's Leadership page returned a server error — permanently, with no way to recover it from the site.
- What it cost. One troop hit this on September 14, and that campout's Leadership page was unusable from then until today.
- The repair. Three duplicated leader records across two campouts were found on production and corrected, with each surviving leader confirmed by hand before anything was deleted. A database rule now makes a second leader in the same role impossible, so this cannot recur by any route.
- Events can no longer disappear into a hidden "Completed" state. An event could be moved into a status that no leader-facing list and no calendar displayed, with no way to find it again or move it back — so an event could vanish from the site entirely. The status was half-built: the feature it was added for was never finished. It is now retired, and every troop was checked on production before the change shipped. No event was in that state.
Email and broadcasts
- Each patrol appears once in the audience picker. The broadcast and event audience list repeated patrols — in one troop, three patrols each appeared three or four times — alongside five entries that were never troop patrols at all. Only one copy of each ever delivered; picking any of the others sent to nobody, with nothing on screen to say so. Fourteen stray groups were switched off.
- Scheduling a message for later uses the site's own date and time picker. The field previously used whatever the browser provides, which looks and behaves differently in every browser and on every phone.
Scouts and families
- Partly finished merit badges now import from TroopMaster. The Individual History import read only the completed-badge list and ignored the separate Partial Merit Badges section, so a scout actively working on a badge came through with no record of it. Nothing was recorded incorrectly; it was simply missing.
- The adult Training page is a proper roster. It now has search, sorting and paging, and it shows the records behind a result. Previously a family could read "Trained" with nothing on the page showing which record earned it. Safeguarding Youth (Y01) was also being left out of the position-trained calculation and is now counted.
Troop settings
- Turning a module off now actually turns it off, everywhere. Turning a module off at the platform level now takes effect on every screen. When a module is off, a troop's own toggle is grayed out with a plain reason rather than silently doing nothing.
