TroopPlanner v0.58.0

← All releases

Many of the changes in this release are on the advancement and scout pages: removing a merit badge works again, ended position assignments can be edited, and families get one combined reminder email.

What's new on the site

Advancement

  • Advancement leaders can remove a merit badge again. A troop reported this. The confirmation box failed to send the request, so every delete was refused. Nothing was deleted by mistake; nothing could be deleted at all.
  • A level-5 leader can delete an earned badge record. The delete control was refused to them before.
  • Manual Import appears on the Star/Life and Eagle trackers. It was missing from those two trackers.
  • Eagle project proposal approval date is recorded. The date a proposal was approved is now saved with the Eagle project.
  • Counselor status sorts and groups like a position on the lists that show both.

Events

  • The combined family reminder email now greets the family. The greeting and the preferences link now match the person who received the email.
  • Families get one combined reminder email. A household with several members now receives one scheduled reminder email, not one per member, with a link to that family's notification preferences. A scheduled reminder email also carries a preferences link.
  • The campout summary is linked from the event page. An event that is a campout now links straight to its campout summary.

Finance

  • Event fee payments follow stricter rules. A fee line states the reason before it is charged, and a payment can move only between states that make sense.

Scouts and families

  • Ended position assignments can be edited and deleted. Edit and Delete did not work on an assignment that had already ended. Delete now sits inside the Edit dialog, next to the change it undoes.
  • The Positions overview uses the same list tools as the other rosters, and position assignments can be edited and deleted from it.
  • Transition, revert and merge actions moved to the Actions card on a member's profile.
  • A member search finds a scout by preferred name.
  • A scout training list with a course filter. The Training area gains a list of scouts' training with a filter by course.
  • An expired Safeguarding Youth certificate no longer counts as current. One of the course's alternate codes was treated as a fresh completion, which could show an adult as trained when their certificate had lapsed.
  • Older training codes now count. Courses that were renumbered are grouped, so a completion recorded under an old code counts toward the current course.
  • Photo upload and remove return to the edit page instead of dropping you elsewhere.

Email and notifications

  • Send Notification shows who will receive it before you send. The same recipient preview the broadcast screen has now appears on the in-app notification screen.
  • Send Notification can pick a broadcast audience group, the way the broadcast screen does.
  • Outside contacts start unsubscribed from troop notifications.

Imports

  • The import results page shows everything the import did. It now lists Order of the Arrow dates and the positions and badges the import could not match. Before, those were done or skipped with nothing on the results page to say so.
  • The import results page explains skipped rows. Each skipped row now shows its reason on the preview and results pages.
  • A merit badge award uses the requirement version in force on the date it was earned, not today's.
  • A stranded Scoutbook or training import is healed. An import job that stopped part-way is reclaimed instead of staying stuck.

Photos

  • One photo viewer everywhere. The three separate photo viewers were replaced by one, so a photo opens the same way wherever you meet it.

The phone app

  • A sign-off tapped with no signal is queued. The phone app now holds the mark and sends it when the signal returns.
