Four new database migrations on top of a rebuilt migration history. One fix came from a troop report: nobody could award Citizenship in Society. The release also finishes moving almost every page on the site to a newer page-rendering system. That work is meant to be invisible, and one place where it was not is fixed here too.
What's new on the site
Advancement
- Citizenship in Society can be started and awarded again. A troop reported this. Scouting America discontinued the badge on February 27, 2026, but scouts may still earn it through December 31, 2026. Every badge picker lists active badges only, so the badge vanished from all of them. It is now active through the end of 2026.
- Rifle Shooting, Shotgun Shooting and Archery can be completed through their option paths. Seven option paths on those three badges held only a title, with no requirements under them, so a scout who picked one had nothing to complete. The missing requirement text is now in place.
- The Eagle readiness table's column labels read correctly again. The rotated labels over each column had been showing upside-down on the live site. A styling rule that only the new page system used was being left out of the site's stylesheet. This release restores it, along with any other style that had gone missing the same way.
- The Eagle project proposal approval date appears on the Eagle project card and in the Eagle pipeline, not only on the form where it is entered.
The phone app
- Advancement history is available offline. The phone app's sign-offs page now shows a scout's earned ranks and badges from the copy the app keeps on the phone, so it works with no signal. Previously that history needed a connection.
Events and campouts
- The event Attendance page uses the full width of the screen. On a wide screen the roster table was cut off mid-header.
- The campout summary page names the trip at the top, so a family who arrives there from the event page can see which campout they are looking at.
Scouts and families
- Member lists load with fewer trips to the database. The scouts, adults, inactive members, admin users and volunteers lists were working out the same set of people up to four times per page. They now do it once.
- The Conditioning Log date field keeps its date. On the Log Activity and Edit Activity forms the date appeared blank, because the page wrote it as "April 5, 2026", which the browser's date field cannot read.
- A date field that rejects what you typed keeps its error message on screen, instead of clearing it as soon as the date picker redraws.
Imports
- Imports no longer merge two different people who share a name. Seven of the import formats looked people up by name in a way that silently kept only the first match. Two scouts or adults with the same name in one file could end up written to the same person's record.
Troop settings
- The permissions matrix has one scrollbar instead of three. The page and the table each scrolled on their own, so which one moved depended on where the pointer happened to be. A more compact layout for the same page follows in the next release.
Behind the scenes
Nothing here changes what you see on the site.
- Scheduled broadcasts and event reminders stopped crashing on troops that are still being set up. No member missed an email because of it.
