Event Planning

Plan the trip, fill the roster, take the credit.

From a weekly meeting to a six-phase campout — publish an event, collect RSVPs people actually respond to, coordinate rides and gear, then turn attendance into advancement credit automatically.

Everything a troop event needs

🗓️

Events for every occasion

Each type carries the fields it actually needs.

  • Meetings, campouts, hikes, service projects, Courts of Honor — with type-specific fields
  • Recurring events fill the calendar for you
  • Draft → publish workflow and bulk edit across many events

In Scoutbook Plus: events are generic — no type-specific fields, recurring templates, or draft/publish workflow.

RSVPs people actually use

Every family can respond the way that fits them.

  • Parents RSVP for the whole family; leaders enter a proxy RSVP for anyone
  • A no-login magic link, plus token RSVPs for non-member guests
  • Capacity limits with automatic waitlists, and reminders

In Scoutbook Plus: RSVP works, but only for invited members signed in — no magic-link or guest RSVP.

🚗

Logistics that coordinate themselves

The parts that usually take a dozen texts.

  • Volunteer shift sign-ups within an event
  • Carpool and driver offers so families can arrange rides
  • An aquatics / swim-qualifications panel for water events

In Scoutbook Plus: no carpool coordination and no volunteer shift sign-ups.

🧭

Attendance becomes credit

Take attendance once; the records update themselves.

  • A per-event attendance grid with quick toggles and per-member override
  • Camping nights, hiking miles, and service hours flow onto advancement
  • A "missing attendance" report flags unreconciled events

In Scoutbook Plus: turning attendance into logged activity is a separate, more manual step.

⚠️

Safety built into the trip

The paperwork that matters, generated on demand.

  • One-tap emergency-contact PDF and an allergy summary for every campout
  • Driver and required-forms compliance tracked per registration
  • Two-deep leadership readiness checks before you go

In Scoutbook Plus: no one-tap emergency-contact or allergy PDF for a trip.

📅

The calendar, everywhere

Your schedule shows up where families already look.

  • Month and day views, plus a personal iCal feed for Google / Apple / Outlook
  • A public, no-login feed to share with prospective families
  • Event reminders and a readiness check as the date approaches

In Scoutbook Plus: a personal calendar feed exists, but no public feed for recruiting.

The six-phase campout planner

A guided wizard walks a trip from the PLC's decision all the way to the after-action review. Scouts and parents self-register and see the packing list from their phone; leaders build patrols, meal plans, and a driver roster, capture live-trip notes, then record roses/thorns, sign-offs, and expense receipts afterward.

See the whole picture

Free for troops with 15 or fewer Scouts. Larger troops get a 60-day free trial.
