The whole troop is in one list, with a way to contact each person. You need it more often than you would think: a ride home, a swap of meeting nights, a question for the patrol leader.
Open Members in the sidebar. There are several lists behind it, and picking the right one saves you a search.
Scouts. The youth members.
Adults. Parents and registered adults.
Leaders. Who currently holds which job. Start here when you want "whoever is Treasurer" rather than a name.
Outside Contacts. People who are not in the troop at all — a council office, a campground ranger, a chartered organization.
Not all of these show for everybody. What you see depends on what your troop has given you.
There is a Search by name box at the top. Start typing and the list narrows as you go. There is no button to press and no page to wait for.
For a bigger question, use the filters instead. You can narrow by Member Type, by Status, by patrol, by rank and by position.
Filters work together. Pick a patrol and a rank and you get the people who match both.
A Clear button appears as soon as any filter is on. If a list looks oddly short, that button is the first thing to check.
Tap a name. Contact Information near the top holds the email address, the phone numbers and the address.
Further down is who they are connected to. A Scout's page lists their Parents & Guardians. An adult's page lists their Linked Scouts. Both are links, so you can hop from a Scout to the parent you actually need in one tap.
Their patrol and any position they hold are on the same page.
Dates of birth, BSA ID numbers, allergies, food intolerances and medical form dates are treated separately from everything else. They are the private part of a record.
If they look blank to you, they are not missing. They are switched off for you.
That switch is on or off, with nothing in between. Somebody either sees all of it or none of it, by design. Who can see what explains how it is set.
The phone version has a Roster tab in the bar along the bottom, with the same search by name.
That tab only appears if your troop lets you see the roster. If it is not there, that is the reason.
It is the version worth having on a campout, when you need a parent's number and not a full member record.
Usually a filter, or somebody who has left.
| What happened | What to do |
|---|---|
| There is no Members in my menu | Your troop has not given you the roster. Ask a leader if you should have it — plenty of troops open it to all parents. |
| Somebody I know is not in the list | Check the Clear button first, in case a filter is hiding them. Then check whether they are on the Adults list rather than the Scouts one. |
| A member who left is still there | Or is missing after leaving. Either way the Status filter is the answer: archived members are hidden until you ask for them. |
| Their phone number is blank | Nobody has filled it in. Ask a leader to add it, or ask the family directly. |
| Dates of birth and allergies are blank | Those are private fields and they are switched off for you. It is all or nothing, so a leader has to turn it on. |
| I want to email several people at once | Do not copy addresses out by hand. Ask a leader to send a broadcast — it respects who has unsubscribed, and it copies parents in on anything sent to Scouts. |
| A Scout has no parent listed | The parent-child link is missing. That link does more than show a name: it is what lets a parent see their own child's records. Worth reporting. |
Try the other guides, or ask a leader in your troop.
